This post has been months in the making. I applaud myself for actually executing the actual posting part.  A part of me thought I never would.

Anyways, you have probably guessed it by now but this is my mega playlist for the past two months. I have 30 new songs for you to enjoy. I sure have.

The past couple of days I have been doing some major housekeeping on my Spotify. It’s weird being so young in the digital age because you have, normal chores like sweeping and digital ones too like deleting spam emails.

Before I go even more off on a tangent, let me tell you a little bit about this playlist. There is definitely no theme or consistency to this playlist. Probably a metaphor for my life. But each song I genuinely enjoy and play on repeat often.

There is twice the amount of songs on this playlist so I’ll spare you any more of my commentary. Here is Mapril Melodies:

(I’ll add the apple music link soon!)

Here is why I like the songs from Mapril Melodies:

Flowers by James Spaite // This is possibly my most emotional song on this playlist. This song is very serene and beautifully produced. Reminds me a lot of Ed Sheeran. Worth giving a listen too.

Think About You by Jacob Sigman // I love the guitar in this song. It’s a very happy and funky beat. It definitely gets stuck in your head.

Blue by Samuel Larsen // This is a serenade, to say the least. The simple beat makes this an amazing song to just chill to. I had this song on repeat for 3 days I swear.

I Miss You – Unplugged by 5 Seconds of Summer // This song is mixing the nostalgia of blink-182 with my parents and me with 5sos. I usually don’t love covers but this one is very pleasant.

Low by Greyson Chance // Speaking of nostalgia, I feel like I was watching Greyson Chance sing Paparazzi by Lady Gaga while playing the piano YESTERDAY. It is so cool to see that his talent did not go to waste.

Well Off by Former Vandal // I love love love this song. The lyrics make me smile and I feel cool when I listen to this song? I can’t figure out why lol.

(Fuck A) Silver Lining by Panic! At the Disco //  This is a song about wanting to excel at everything and wanting to get the best out of every possible situation. Which is honestly the ultimate goal for me. Brendon himself describes this song as something you would hear in a 70s roller rink. If that doesn’t paint the picture I don’t know what will.

Morning by Marc E. Bassy // I had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Marc live in Vegas two months ago and I really loved this song. The melodies of this song are phenomenal and the song’s beat is very… groovy.

Best Friend by Rex Orange County // I cannot tell you enough how thankful I am for the fact that I stumbled across Rex Orange County. I BOP to this music. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give them a try. This is possibly one of their most popular songs.

Hurt Somebody by Noah Kahan and Julia Michaels // I play this song almost every single day when I wake up. It’s such a good song to start your day because it’s not too loud or ‘out there’ but still wakes you up with its beat.

Say Something by Justin Timberlake and Chris Stapleton // JT can honest to God pull off anything in the music industry. I think it’s cool how he uses this song to talk about the pressure on any people of influence to use their voice to help social issues.

Floating by Alina Baraz Feat. Khalid // I was so excited to see this on Alina’s album when it came out. I have always adored Electric and knew this would be another hit. They sound so good together, their voices just compliment each other so well.

The Middle by Zedd, Maren Morris, and Grey // I feel like this song is summer ’18s new Stay by Alessia Cara. I mean it is a classic Zedd to make another song of the summer. If you haven’t heard this song yet, you will, trust me.

all the kids are depressed by Jeremy Zucker // Jeremy recently released his newest album and graduated college and I am just a proud stan. I love his voice and this song is just so good. Awareness of mental illness is so important, especially in the younger generations. Glad to see it happening here.

Personal by HRVY // This song is such a guilty pleasure. I can’t get it out of my head. I play it on repeat. It just makes me soooooo happy. You will either love it or hate it. Give it a try.

1950 by King Princess // I like to listen to this song when I am getting ready for bed. It’s a very chill and steady song. Plus I love the perspective it gives towards people in the LGBTQ+ community in the 1950s. The meaning and the sound of this song are on point.

Youngblood by 5 seconds of summer // This song makes me feel like a badass. That’s about it.

Raye by John Splithoff // Oh my god, this is possibly one of my favorite songs on this entire playlist. If you listen to any song on here please make it this one.

Perfect Places by Lorde // I love Lorde so much. I don’t think she could produce a bad song in her career. I feel powerful and nostalgic and happy when I listen to this song.

Man in the Mirror – Recorded at Sound Stage Studios Nashville by Russel Dickerson // I love the country twist that Russel put on this classic MJ song. I can’t get enough of this song. Wow, just wow.

Made 2 Love U by Johnny Balik // I’m surprised this song hasn’t blown up yet. It’s a total pop love song. You feel magical when listening to it.

Take Me Away by Daniel Caesar feat. Syd // This is a great song for night time. Daniel’s style of music is very similar to Frank Ocean. Syd’s collab in this song is mesmerizing. Glad someone showed me the beauty of Daniel’s music.

I Don’t Want It At All by Kim Petras // This song is a fat mood. It’s literally about being a sugar baby. I think this song is hilariously perfect and sassy for people whose taste is bigger than life itself.

better off by Jeremy Zucker and Chelsea Cutler // Another great song for the night. It has a lush, soft guitar feel and has some beautiful sound effects. At some points, there are rain sounds and that makes very impressed with this song.

Youth by Shawn Mendes feat. Khalid // This song was surprisingly good. I didn’t expect music like this from Shawn and I thought their voices would clash. BUT WOW. This is an amazing soft ballad and definitely a favorite from Shawn’s new album.

Motions by Shoffy // Going through the motions. A relatable and fluent feeling to just about everyone. I think Shoffy does a great job at illustrating that in this song.

Sugar Drunk High by James Bay // Oh my god I cannot even tell you how important this song is. I know this is a big statement, but this may be my favorite James Bay song EVER. This is also possibly my favorite song on this playlist. LISTEN TO THIS SONG!!

Sunflower by Rex Orange County // I am in love with the beginning of this song. It reminds me of the movie Big Fish for some reason. I don’t know why. It’s just one big hazy dream.

Real Name by Lostboycrow // “‘Real Name’ is the moment of realization that our passions are not coincidence – and a most sacred pursuit to watch them all take shape.” – said Lostboycrow. Talk about the most beautiful concept of a song, plus its made by a fellow Oregonian! Had to add this song.

Worst In Me by Julia Michaels // I hate how catchy Julia’s songs are. This song is too good. Definitely find the time to listen to this one.

And BOOM! Another 30 songs for the books! Let me know which songs are your favorites! Until next time REMEMBER,

Make happy YOUR habit!

xoxo, Mia
