Hello! Bonjour! Hola! Welcome or Welcome back! I am so glad you are here.

Happy February Friends! Congratulations on getting through the first month of 2018. As the new month rolls in, this can only mean one thing for my posts…

New monthly music! I love doing these posts for you guys. I religiously listened to my January playlist all last month. And I cannot wait to do the same with this new playlist I have compiled for you.

I’m trying to think of a way to convey what exactly the theme of this playlist really is. To put it briefly, there isn’t. I say that because, frankly, my music taste is a giant melting pot of just about everything. This playlist has quite a few different genres and feels. But they all do have one thing in common. love. For the month of february, I felt that route was nothing short of appropriate. Before I ramble into the next month, lets get to the reason why we are all here.

Here is February Faves:

Here is why I like the songs on February Faves:

The Fighter by Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood // OKAY. I adore this song. A close friend of mine introduced me to this song last month and I was mind blown. I love country music and I just love the feel of this song. I swear your mood elevates when you listen to it. It makes me want to dance. It makes me smile. It is overall an amazing song.

Lovebug by Jonas Brothers // A WELL WORTHY throwback in my eyes. I remember when I was younger, my best friend and I would argue who would get to marry Nick Jonas when we were older. We watched the Disney show together, we had the Jonas Brother barbie dolls, and listened to their music as if it was our damn job. AND GET THIS – SHE WENT TO THE CONCERT WITHOUT ME. How stupid. Anyways, this song and Burnin’ up were my favorites. And I couldn’t NOT put this song on February Faves. You’re welcome.

Naked by James Arthur // James Arthur has the most beautiful voice. It makes your heart melt. I discovered this song by hearing it in the background of someone’s snapchat story a couple weeks ago. I kept watching it until I could make out the lyrics and googled it because I knew this song was a keeper. Enjoy this serenade of a song and thank me later.

Teenager in Love by Madison Beer // I love this song. I listen to the original 1959 version all the time. It’s so timeless and so relevant. Madison Beer proves it with her new rendition of it. Seriously she pulled this song off so well its uncanny. I also encourage you to check out other songs by Madison, her song Dead is a bop.

Homemade Dynamite – REMIX by Lorde, Khalid, Post Malone, and SZA // First of all, I think it would be impossible to produce a bad song with any of these artists individulally, let alone combined. You can’t go wrong. This is the type of song you listen to, and then get mad because you didn’t discover it sooner. If you check out any of the songs on this playlist, make it this one.

keep my head afloat (stripped.) by Jeremy Zucker // Remember when I told you guys I went to that Lauv concert a couple weekends ago? This was the opener of the show. And I’m head over heels in love with him. You guys don’t understand. I am planning our wedding as we speak. I met him after the show and he was so sweet and he is so talented. It was hard for me to pick just one song by him for this playlist. Listen, his music is one banger after the next. Please check him out.

Breathe by Lauv // Surprise. Another Lauv song. Okay, this may be overkill but its been a really long time since I’ve loved an album like this. There isn’t a single song I skip. That’s when you know you’ve got some quality music in your hands. This song is very calm and grounding. I like to listen to it when I’m getting ready for bed because it just puts me in a very content mood. The impact it has is  c r a z y.

Love on Top by Beyoncé // This song was a given for this playlist. Are you serious? It’s Beyoncé. Do I even need to say anything else? Listen, I am blessing your ears with this 4 1/2 minute work of ART.

Human by Ciaran McMeeken // This is the first song I’ve heard by Ciaran and I’m so impressed. This song is so vulnerable and beautiful. You can hear the emotions behind it and that’s exactly why I love it so much. I bet he gives great hugs, because he sure as hell sounds like he does. I can’t wait to listen to more of his music.

Chocolate by The 1975 // This song is an all time favorite. I can feel my endorphin rush coming when this song comes on. It’s a very youthful and ‘happy go lucky’ type of song. I love this band. I love their albums. I love this song. I love the idea behind it. There isn’t a single negative thing I could say about their work.

It Was Love by LANY // I love the story this song tells. It’s so powerful to me. The electric guitar(?) solo in the middle is INCREDIBLE. There are not a lot of albums that I think are necessary to listen to on vinyl, but this one is definitely a must. I’ll let you guys know how that goes when I actually purchase the record.

Dress by Taylor Swift // The first cd I ever bought with my own money growing up was Fearless by Taylor Swift. My T Swizzle phase was and still is very real. I feel bad for girls my age who didn’t grow up on old school Taylor Swift. What a sad life. You Belong with Me was my favorite song for like half of my life. Now, this is not my favorite song on Reputation, but this is definitely one of my favorites. It’s well worth a listen or two.

My My My! by Troye Sivan // Middle school Mia is crying right now. I love Troye Sivan soooooo much. Remember when I said Lauv’s album is one of the few albums that I genuinely love? Well Troye’s album Blue Neighborhood is also one. My love for it is unreal. When Troye recently dropped this song, I swear I was back in 8th grade again. The reminisence I have for Troye makes everything he releases 100x better. And it was already amazing to begin with.

3:00 AM by Finding Hope // One of my favorite parts about this song is the sound of rain pouring down in the background. My entire life I have always loved the sound of rain. Its so calming. And I love the lyrics to this song, because I think our most meaningful realizations are the ones that keep us up late at night. And this song encapsulates that perfectly.

From the Dining Table by Harry Styles // THIS. SONG. GETS. TO. ME. It’s too good. It has middle school me crying yet again because Harry Styles. Plus it has a beautiful symphony playing in the song that gives me goosebumps every single time I listen to it. No joke. Every element into his song has so much care and effort put into it. This song will not let you down.

That wraps up February Faves! I can’t wait to make more monthly playlists in the near future! Until then, REMEMBER

Make happy YOUR habit!

xoxo, Mia
